The data attempts to report regulatory status of mines on the date of publication based on information provided by the mining companies. The regulatory status of each mine is expected to change over time as mining and reclamation progresses, notices and reports are provided by the mining companies. For most recent accurate information, the approved mandatory non-phosphate permit, conceptual plans, and/or annual reports, and/or notice of intent for mining map or document should be consulted.

Polygons were either digitized from maps submitted to the Department or in some cases where no maps were available, polygons are rough estimations of the extent of the disturbed areas (based on aerial interpretation) that were subject to the reclamation requirements of Part III of Chapter 378, F.S.; the polygon may also include areas that were not subject to reclamation requirements to simplify drawing. Although due care was taken when digitizing or drawing polygon boundaries, the boundaries are not based on survey data and should not be interpreted to have survey-level accuracy. Attribute data was populated based on information submitted to the Department in permit applications, conceptual reclamation plans, mining notices and/or other items by mine operators, owners, and/or consultants. Attribute data was checked by Department staff with experience reviewing applications for and inspecting each individual mine, however attribute information may contain errors or inaccuracies.

|
