Service Description: Bureau staff acquired historical aerial images from the Department of Transportation from the 1980s. The geographic areas covered by the historical files are in Hillsborough, Polk, Manatee, Hardee, and Desoto in Central Florida where Mandatory Phosphate mining has occurred. Each individual image was rectified and a mosaic was created. Mosaic includes areas within the counties above that have had phosphate mining or will potentionaly be mined. Please notice that not the whole counties were rectified, but only those areas pertinent to phosphate mining.
